Information for Riders

Event Schedule

Track Access & Warm Up

The track will be available each morning for warmup from 9am until 10 minutes before the start of each session (usually 10am - but this will depend on the number of entries). Depending on the schedule, further warmup time may be available during the lunch break. Riders on track must always be wearing team kit, and at least one number. Headphones must not be worn, and standing starts are not allowed.

Event Format

Events will be contested over the below distances. Where qualification heats are required for bunch races, these will typically take place over half distance.

Sprints

  • Qualifying over 200m

  • Competition format will depend on number of entries, but will at least include semi finals and finals run over the best of 3. If time allow, quarter finals will also be the best of three.

Individual Pursuit

  • All riders will do a qualifying ride

  • The top 4 riders will then ride finals, with the top two seeds competing for Gold & Silver

  • If time allows, there will be additional minor finals for 5th-8th place.

  • Start Gates will be used.

Time Trial

  • Time trials will be run as a straight final.

  • Depending on the number of entries this will be with either one or two riders on track at a time.

  • Start Gates will be used.

Keirin

  • Competition format will depend on number of entries, but will at least include semi finals and finals.

  • All riders will get at least two rides.

Scratch, Points, Madison, Elimination

  • Events will be run over the distances in the table above.

  • Where qualifying heats are required, the same number of riders will be eliminated from each heat as per current UCI regulations (Therefore not necessarily the same number of riders will progress from each heat).

  • Note: Elimination qualification, if required, will be the same distance/format as Scratch qualification.

Equipment & Clothing

  • Your bicycle must comply with the current UCI regulations.

  • Youth A riders must ride a gear no larger than 6.93m. Gear checks will take place for all riders pre race; and spot checks will be carried out throughout the competition.

  • All riders must wear the registered clothing of their current club/team. Plain clothing may only be worn by riders not affiliated with a club or team.

Entries

  • Entries will be via the British Cycling website, from May 1st to July 15th

  • Championship events £25 / non-championship events £15

  • Entries are non-refundable after the closing date.

  • For riders who wish to ride up a category (Youth B to Youth A, or Youth A to Junior) please contact us by email to process your entries manually.
